A beautiful stem vase by Brighton based ceramicist, Rowena Gilbert.

This vase is from her stunning “ Tales of the Riverbank” collection that we are delighted to showcase here in the gallery.

The collection features a muted colour palette, all of which are Rowena’s own creations, and a beautiful fluidity of line and variation of texture to each piece. Rowena’s work is heavily inspired by the natural world around her.

Layer upon layer of coloured slips have been built up upon the outer and inner of the vase before Rowena then lets her creativity flow free in the final stages of her process, here she has used brushwork which adds an element of spontaneity and freedom to the work, perfectly linking to their riverbank inspiration.

Vases are water tight, gloss glazed on the inside to hold water for fresh flowers.
