William H Jones was born in Lancashire and studied Graphic Design at Bolton College of Art and Design, graduating in 1973. Since then William has sold works in a variety of media from watercolours to pastels, before his preferred medium of oils.
As a professional artist painting in oils, William has been based in Cumbria for the past 30 years. The beautiful scenario that surrounds him provides inspiration for his work. With an established reputation in landscape and portraiture painting, Willian and his wife owned the successful Finestra Gallery in Kirkby Lonsdale for fourteen years, but William now works from his studio at home.
William was elected at President of Kirkby Lonsdale Art society in 1997, is a past president of Kendal Art Society and has exhibited for many years in open exhibitions across Lancashire, Yorkshire and the Lakes, including the Lake Arts Society in Grasmere.
