“I hope my paintings bring a sense of calm and connection, reminding people of moments spent outdoors.”
Art Medium: Acrylic
Victoria Hodgson is the artist behind Feather & Wild, creating landscape paintings inspired by the mountains, woodlands and open spaces of the Lake District and beyond. Her work reflects a deep connection to nature and the sense of calm and perspective that comes from spending time outdoors.
Working primarily in acrylics, Victoria builds her paintings through layers of colour, texture and expressive brushwork. Rather than focusing on fine detail, she aims to capture the atmosphere, movement and emotion of a place, whether that be shifting light across the fells or the quiet stillness of a woodland scene.
The work we have in the gallery celebrates the beauty of the natural world through a soft, contemporary palette and an intuitive approach to painting. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, reflect and reconnect with familiar landscapes.
Victoria’s creative process often begins with sketches, photographs and observations gathered during walks and adventures. Back in the studio, these impressions are developed into paintings that balance memory, feeling and place.
“Painting allows me to capture not just what a landscape looks like, but how it feels to be there.”
