Chris was born in 1954 in Felixstowe, Suffolk. He now lives in the Durham Dales. He has painted water colours as a profession since 1980, specialising in landscape, seascape and architecture.
Chris has exhibited widely in the north, including solo shows at the University of Durham and the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, County Durham, as well as venues in Cumbria, Lincolnshire, Herefordshire and central London.
Chris finds his inspiration in landscape, working to convey the effects of light on land and water.
Original watercolour by local artist Chris Mouncey.
Chris has a wonderfully soft way of using watercolour that really captures the atmospheric and constantly changing light of the Lake District.
