A handbuilt abstract figure set on a sandstone base. The piece is built on a steel armature which is then covered with layers of bronze modified Ferro cement and epoxy resin, all in a variegated patination with a verdigris and oxidised finish.

The gold on the base of the piece is Kolner 23.75 carat which has been gilded into a natural crevice in the stone.

The piece is set on a square of beautiful hand quarried Northumberland Sandstone from the Ladycross Quarry and Nature Reserve. The figure has been matched carefully to the stone and gives the title of the sculpture, in this case the ‘river of gold’ laid at the figures feet.
