Anne Mason
A Precious Place
A Precious Place
‘A Precious Place’ is an impressive original painting by Anne Mason, both in scale and grandeur, evoking a sense of place, and even though some may know this location intimately, it could, arguably be one of many deciduous woods around the British Isles.
With tremendous attention to detail, foreground, middleground and diffused out to softness in the background, I suspect each of us knows this autumnal scene and feeling intimately.
Likely you know the day started off probably damp, leaves on the floor, becoming mulch, there may even have been a slight frost, then for the sun to break through later in the morning, burning off any low-lying mist, warming the air, the leaves, the trees, and with the stream behind us, we set off on our travels, into the landscape, into this painted scene.
Framed in a light oak wooden frame, oil on canvas, no glass.
